Oasis Tooling at DAC 2006
Technology to Help Debug Design
Software in the Field
Alamo, California – July
17, 2006
––
Oasis Tooling today announced ipHasher,
a design layout geometry
hashing technology to remove proprietary layout
information from layout files while maintaining detected
software bugs that need to be shared with the software
supplier.
IC
manufactures and foundries use pattern data selected
from product designs to test licensed software from its
suppliers. They frequently find bugs in design software
that suppliers cannot reproduce with the test cases
available to them. IC manufacturers and foundries are
not willing to release the patterns that exhibited the
problems. Many of these bugs are very subtle, only
affecting a handful of products laid out with the same
design rules.
The ipHasher
conserves the subtleties of the bug while masking the
sensitive intellectual property within the product
design that can then be shared with the supplier.
The ipHasher
helps with the debugging of design software in the
field. The software creates a new layout file
encapsulating the bug but devoid of sensitive product
design information. The technology accelerates the
debugging process at a significant cost and time-savings
for both the customer and the supplier.
