Oasis Tooling gmTest Reduces Bugs in
Design Software Code
Alamo, California –
July
17, 2006 – OASIS Tooling today introduced gmTest, a new
technology to verify the operational and computational
correctness of EDA software. The gmTest technology
improves code coverage to find more bugs prior to
release for design and mask operations using
computational geometry and other similarly complex
design operations. The development of the technology
extends Oasis Tooling's success in commercial OASIS
verification technology into broader automated
verification and debugging of software code.
gmTest comprises a deep and
broad palette of example test cases designed to catch
coding bugs and incorrect methods and operations created
during code development.
Rather than relying on narrowly defined test cases that
comprise known bugs created somewhere and sometime in
the past, the libraries and analysis software in gmTest
cover the possible variants of all errors that may occur
during code development. Code coverage is expected to
improve from 40-60% to over 90%. gmTest combines
mathematical analysis of computational geometry
algorithms, intelligent automated layout synthesis,
geometric hashing and code coverage methods to create a
system for the automated verification of CAD and EDA
tools.
There
are 23 modules covering operations such as electrical,
design and mask rule checks, rule deck verification,
extraction, fracturing, OPC, placement accuracy and
computational geometry algorithm performance.
